This Motor Launch Lifeboat came from the USNS Mercy, Originally placed in service in 1986, the Mercy is a hospital ship that still fills her role as a hospital ship when called upon.... (read more) Built in the shipyards of Brooklyn New York in 1986 this motor launch was part of a refit for the USNS Mercy.In 2014 the Lifeboat was removed from service in Bremerton Washington, for a new refit of the hospital ship Mercy. The owner picked her up as she was headed for disposal.This is Lifeboat 1, She's 37 feet long, has a 12'-6" beam, 6' Draft and is capable of carrying up to 102 passengers. Built of steel with a fiberglass overlay, the Interior is molded fiberglass. Very effective for carrying a large complement of passengers.The launch will be fairly easy to truck, as there are lifting hooks attached to the steel keel on both ends. The current owner purchased the Lane Marine Technology Inc Lifeboat in 2014 without engines. The engine was recently installed and currently has less than 100 hours on it since that time.
This motor launch was originally steered via tiller. The steering wheel and control cables have not been mounted yet at the time of this writing. we'll update the listing as the boat is updated.
The Rudder has been painted and installed with Stainless Steel Hardware. Ask for Loren Eslinger.
